³⁶ And the Lord replies: I will be your lawyer; I will plead your case; I will avenge you. I will dry up her river, her water supply, ³⁷ and Babylon shall become a heap of ruins, haunted by jackals, a land horrible to see, incredible, without a living soul. ³⁸ In their drunken feasts, the men of Babylon roar like lions.
